The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Justice. Attorney General Pam Bondi released the ATF general counsel on Thursday. The general counsel position in federal law enforcement agencies advises government agents on the legal limits of their actions during investigations.
Newly confirmed Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Kash Patel is expected to make personnel changes as well. He stated, “The American people deserve an FBI that is transparent, accountable, and committed to justice.”
The director added, “Working alongside the dedicated men and women of the Bureau and our partners, we will rebuild an FBI the American people can be proud of.”
